| All is fair in love and war | |
| |
| Ashes to Ashes and dust to dust... | |
| This game is a war game, the odds are, all characters will die at least once. Death is not permanent, and often does not carry in-character penalties. Do not be afraid to let your characters die, especially if it is heading towards reincarnation. | |
| Death is only the beginning | |
| Upon corporeal death, the character's soul will leave its body and return to the Cauldron of Souls, located in Hades, a no-man's-land that is neither Heaven nor Hell. There, it will await reincarnation. There is a time out of 4 real life days before the soul is reincarnated. The character will be reincarnated with the same memories, powers and status as before its death. That is, a dead Throne will return as a Throne, a dead Satan will return as a Satan. Some characters can dip in the cauldron and gather souls. They have to be able to physically arrive at the cauldron in order to do this (If the cauldron is under the military domination of the other army, then there can be no access). Only Uriel, Mad Hatter, and Rosiel can have access to the inner cauldron and to souls. The soul, once retrieved, can stay disincarnated, be transferred into the original body, a soulless body, a reconstructed body or into a 'doll' (androids to hold souls). Who to go to? - Raphael, Rosiel, and Mad Hatter can transfer souls. - Uriel and mechanical engineers can create doll bodies. - Experimental clinics can create bodies from cadaver parts in Hell. These bodies are not stable and will degrade over time. - Soulless bodies are created in Heaven to house Grigol and can be used as vessels for souls. The bodies are all non-gendered, and look like those of little girls. The soul can be returned to the original body right away, or after a stay in any number of different host-bodies or even inert objects (yes, you can stuff a soul into a box as a temporary vessel). Suicide is a mortal sin and will stop the cycle of reincarnations. If a character kills himself, he will return as a human with no powers, no memories, and no chance of regaining their position in Heaven or Hell. The reincarnation is like a character restart. | |
| Execution and its consequences | |
| Executions hold more consequences than an honorable death on the battlefield. If due to some in-character actions such as treason, defection, or forgoing the rules of Heaven or Hell, a character is executed, the normal reincarnation option will not be available. When sentenced to execution, the character will also be given a number of reincarnations as a human through which he must live before returning to Heaven or Hell. Their memory is lost with each reincarnation. After the set number has been experienced, the person can reenter Heaven or Hell at the same level as a beginning character. Since suicide halts the cycle it's not a good way to quickly to burn through reincarnations. Other characters who are in the know can kill the felons to speed up the penance. An executed character can also bypass penance by being plucked from the Cauldron of souls, but they might not be accepted by their side after they cheated their way out of their punishment. Wing removal is limited to the Tribunal of Heaven and the Angel Lord, an angel can never lose its last wing in a normal battle. When wings are removed, the angel will slowly degrade, and lose all memories as his soul is disintegrating. There are two options left to an angel in that position: 1- Let the transformation finish and turn into a demon. The character will lose its angelic beauty and gain some monstrous aspects. 2- Suicide, and go atone for that mortal sin through a mortal life as a regular human. This character will never regain its angelic powers. (See rules on suicides) | |
